Luna - Newmarket

I had a wonderful dinner at Luna, which has the warm atmosphere of a cozy family restaurant. The staff, including the owner and his wife, were very attentive and welcoming. They offer an impressive selection of wines and a menu filled with diverse options. On the night I visited, they had three delicious dinner specials and a tempting dessert special available. If you're in the mood for an excellent Italian meal, I highly recommend checking out Luna!

All the pasta is made in-house, and the sauces are homemade too—no fillers or shortcuts here. The quality of the food really reflected that, and the prices were very reasonable. For appetizers, I originally planned to order just the grilled calamari, but our waitress recommended the bruschetta as well, so we decided to try that. It was delicious—served on warm, crispy bread with beautifully seasoned, fresh tomatoes. The grilled squid was perfectly charred and cooked just right, accompanied by arugula and tomatoes. It was a very tasty dish! For our main courses, we shared a funghi pizza with truffle oil and a pasta dish. The pasta was incredibly soft and fresh, made in-house, with a lovely sauce that I couldn’t resist soaking up with the complimentary bread. The pizza was truly the highlight—it had a light and fluffy crust. I'm not usually a big fan of truffle oil, but this pizza changed my mind; it was absolutely delicious. We couldn't resist trying the homemade tiramisu for dessert, and it definitely lived up to expectations. It paired perfectly with a cup of coffee. This place is truly wonderful—a cozy, mom-and-pop establishment. The owner mentioned they are only open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, so make sure to plan accordingly or you might be out of luck. I would love to return and explore more of their menu. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I have no hesitation in giving it a full 5 stars!

We got there for our anniversary dinner and we booked the table at last minute but they are willing to take us in. The decor is comfortable and the tables are not too close together and the service are quite friendly and feels like I am treated as if I am one of their family member.. warm vibe : Now , let 's talk about The food... In general, it 's above average and the quality is there. The only down side is we ordered Mussels but the Mussels turns out to be quite small unfortunately for us. The cooking of the dish is great but the meat inside the Mussels shell is very small or it would have been a great dish. We got the grilled calamari and veal Marsala. The calamari are perfectly cooked with no complaints and the veal Marsala are quite soft with yummy Marsala sauce that goes very well with the veal and also the marsh potatoes. It 's not cheap but I would say it 's a good choice for special occasions! As dessert, I recommend get the pistachio cheese cake. It 's made with Mascarpone cheese with pistachio extract from Italy according to the restaurant. It 's the same extract ppl would use to make Gelato. It 's not the kind of flavor I get to try often personally... so give this baby a try if u have a chance! I will definitely come again!!

I enjoyed some delicious flavors during my meal; the pasta was perfectly fresh and al dente. I celebrated a birthday here and received friendly service. They also had a nice selection of specials. I will definitely be coming back!

I stumbled upon this restaurant thanks to Google. I was looking for a nice restaurant for my birthday with a good friend. We had a reservation for 8 pm and the restaurant was full. It did take them 40 minutes to take our orders. There was only 1 server and the owners working so it was understandable. I had great company and a delicious Aperol spritz to keep us company. The food was delicious. We got the arugula salad, grilled calamari, and seafood linguine. I got a tiramisu for my birthday dessert and it was delicious. The owner and server sang Happy Birthday and sent very sweet birthday wishes. I'll be back to try other dishes. Thank you for your warm hospitality and great food.
