Ichiban Sushi House - Newmarket

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant, which is located next to a Pizza Pizza. I was initially expecting something less impressive.

Delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband had the steak, which was also very good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The food is excellent, the service is great, but the cooking can be slow. Despite that, everything else is amazing. I ordered all salmon and it was the best salmon I've ever had.

I have been coming here since the beginning and the sushi has always been way above par. They always give you free stuff when your ordering a few items.

Used to frequent this restaurant quite a bit, back in the day, however attended less and less as time went on (discovered better places, in my opinion.) The overall experience at Ichiban is far from poor, though some things are lacking, here and there.There is always only one member of the wait staff on hand and only one chef, every Friday night I have gone, thus there are indeed wait times. Also, the menu is a bit sparse, especially for a non-AYCE restaurant. Other than that, the food is fantastic, fresh and tasty. Spicy Salmon roll works well, like always and the White Dragon roll and Sushi Pizza, are really good. Food comes out looking super elegant as well, especially with the decorative pieces they come on. All in all, Ichiban is not bad.
