The Castle - Newbury

Amazing! When we arrived and noticed it was closed, we were pleasantly surprised by a fresh lunch option. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, making sure we were well taken care of. The food was served promptly and met a very high standard, offering great value for money. I highly recommend it if you find yourself nearby!

I wanted to try something different from the nearby hotel where I was staying, and I have to say, it was my first time having fishcake, and I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely visit again when I return to the area.

This is an excellent pub for dining or simply hanging out. It’s well-furnished and features a lovely corner sofa perfect for relaxing. The menu offers a great selection, and the staff is very friendly. Service was quick, and the food quality was outstanding and reasonably priced. The set menu provides great value as well. There are plenty of parking spaces available, and if it’s busy, there’s additional parking across the street. Recently, we also enjoyed attentive service and high-quality meals!

Had a really nice family dinner on Saturday after we had a few days online. we thought eating was delicious and cooked at home (all gluten-free too). the barktroganoff was very tasty with delicate meat, the ribs were fleshy, a fantastic cumberland sausage with maic and gravy, and the fish goujons on the children's menu had the most incredible teig. I would try the next time the fish and the chips! puddings were also great, and the personal was welcoming and welcoming. worth a visit, we're safe back.

Booked very last minute and managed to accommodate a party of 7 with no issues. Staff super friendly and great menu choices. Highly recommended if you're in the area. We will be back.
