The Carpenters Arms - Newbury

I stayed here for one night to break up a long journey. The pub was beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly. The room was well-maintained and had all the expected amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a decent shower. There wasn't much parking available, but it was overall a pleasant place to stay in a picturesque and quiet location.

Great little find for somewhere to stay! Had a lovely little annex in the lovely cottage next door. although the double doors into the room could do with some attention.. the room was lovely with an array of teas, chocolate coffee. Staff were great very helpful.

It is a beautiful pub with great food! the rooms are as expected, the staff is helpful and very fried. loved our stay and recommend every dish of the chef offers! excellent staff and local guests. they would look in again! can recommend. what a great stay!

We stayed over for a few days walking Watership Down, Wayfarers Way, Brenda Parker Way, Beacon Hill etc. Beautiful trails from the door. The accommodation is really nice and amazing value for money. The vegetarian food was spectacular and very reasonably priced. The freshly cooked to order breakfasts were really nice and the icing on the cake was the perfect coffee. We'll be back, thanks very much to the new owners and staff.

This is a wonderful pub that’s both family and dog-friendly. While the food isn’t the cheapest, it is of excellent quality. I’ve dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. There are enjoyable indoor and outdoor covered dining areas. The pizza oven is an impressive feature, and I’m looking forward to trying a pizza the next time I visit.
