I wanted to give this place a chance b/c I do love me some southern food, but this is not what I expected. Deviled eggs and biscuits were good. The boudin was shaped and fried like Arancini, but they lacked any flavor. Its like they forgot salt or any seasoning. I wished they just served real deal boudin instead of this version. The ceviche, fat back crab was okay. Duck was okay. Louisiana barbecue shrimp was the best dish IMO. The shrimp itself was okay, but the sauce was something I could eat all day with some crusty bread. The $80 sole was not worth the price. Sauce was on the side but it was litterally just melted butter, so you had to douse the fish in the butter if you wanted some flavor. The Scialatelli was unevenly cooked? Is it supposed to be tough on one end and soft/tender on the other? The sauce was tasty. The beignets was stuffed with Pecan Buttercream which made it heavy and unenjoyable. I think when people think of beignets they think of the fresh, lite fried dough topped with powered sugar, not this version stuff with buttercream. Doberge cake for two was good, although, it felt like it cold have been a cake for four it was so big. I felt like some of these dishes were just reworked to make it more different and upscale for the NYC crowd.
Intersect NYC is a co operative project between Lexus and Union Square Hospitality Group with additional locations in Dubai and Tokyo. The kitchen is interchangeable every 6 months they invite a skilled artisan cook to design a menu. The third chef chosen this year is James Beard Award winner and New Orleans: Top Chef Runner up Nina Compton. She hails from Saint Lucia and her bill of fare is an array of Caribbean and Cajun inspired dishes (dover sole meuniere and hot chicken) which will not fail to excite the taste buds. Nothing less than masterful, the two level venue houses an immersive environment of culinary delights and handmade cocktails perfect for private events. Currently, they are led by classically trained Executive Chef Nickolas Martinez (formerly Foragers). This three star Michelin restaurant consistently remains on the tongue of some of the most influential critics. After all, their service, presentation as well as wine pairing is unprecedented. If you are in the mood to be won over by a culinary oasis, then this trip is worth making.
Ate at Campere Lapin tasting menu and it was absolutely sensational. 10 courses with lots of different flavors and textures throughout. Cocktails were great too. Overall a 10/10 night. Highly recommend it.
My husband and I followed this opening from when we saw it announced somewhere on our social medias. We tried to book ahead of time for the Manresa residence, but of course, the first few weeks we were available were booked solid. By some miracle, when we had a reservation for the bar downstairs to at least absorb the space, I happened upon a last minute opening for Manresa online to which I pounced on right away. The service was as impeccable as expected, very attentive when needed but gave us adequate privacy. The seats and tables were pretty close together, so you may be able to overhear entire conversations if you yourself are not in an animated conversation. The bathrooms for the whole building are in the first floor, so for anyone with tiny bladders like mine expect racing up and down stairs for it. I must say, though, the bathrooms are one of the best, modern public bathrooms I've ever used! The food was delicious none that I feel I would specifically return for, but tasty, nonetheless. I had the chocolate crescent dessert and that's so far what I would crave for.
