The Snug Lounge - New Plymouth

We made a reservation and expected to be seated indoors, but it was so crowded on a Friday night that we ended up at bar stools in the bustling shared dining area. The music was quite loud, but we still managed to have a conversation. The waitstaff were very attentive, and the service was prompt. Our order came out quickly. The fried shrimp and crab were absolutely delicious, and my favorite dish was the broccoli and kumara balls. Eventually, we were moved to a table inside where we ordered dumplings. They were a bit too salty for our liking, but the rest of our food was excellent. We both really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially once we were seated indoors.

The restaurant offers delicious Japanese small plates right in the city center. It had a pleasant buzz on a Monday night and the service was quick, efficient, and friendly. It’s a fantastic spot, especially since we were staying right next door.

Great spot with a fantastic atmosphere for enjoying food and drinks. I wasn't very fond of the cocktail, though, as it tasted more like mango juice than anything else.

We found the prices reasonable for the quality of our experience and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It also provides a peaceful environment perfect for conversation.

The food was delivered promptly, and the cocktail (which was a real visual treat) was simply fantastic. The portion sizes for the price were also very generous. I highly recommend this place!
