Carlo's Ices - New Forest

What’s happened ? Used to be such a treat to go here . We were so disappointed . The ice cream tastes like it’s made with cheap skimmed milk , it’s mostly ice with a slight taste . The service is awful . Behind the ice cream counter actually looks like it needs a really good clean , esp the lower areas . Staff were hot and bothered , expected , but the lack of service was bad and she was more interested in chatting to co workers . Sad to say this business needs a complete over haul and bringing up to date .

Ice cream was tasty but cone was very very stale. Also, how can a legitimate business now expect customers to spend a minimum of £5 before a card payment can be accepted? Not acceptable .

Old school in all the wrong ways. Zero regard for sustainability or animal welfare. Plastic and polystyrene rule the day. Vegetarian options are largely absent. The portions are small and the ice cream is cheap and nasty definitely not Italian. Staff look miserable and child labour appears to be standard. There are far better places nearby.

If i could rate this place under 1 star i would. the service is absolutely disgusting with the food no much better. felt like i was in a circus and the way the younger staff are treated is very upsetting. ill be sure to tell...

The Sunday roast at this restaurant is excellent. There are plenty of vegetables and meat, and the gravy is delicious. The staff are very efficient and friendly, creating a family atmosphere.
