Hong's Garden Chinese - New Castle

Kept trying to order items off the menu and was told that they hadn't had that for 2 years. Food came out sporadically. Too busy filling take out orders to wait on customers. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Pretty bare-bones operation. Nice enough proprietors, some of what we had was ok, but I personally had a beef dish and, being a chef myself, I know what spoiled food smells and tastes like. The beef tasted like ammonia and shouldn't have been served. I didn't get sick, but I also didn't eat much of it. They took it off the bill, but i still won't be returning. Service: Dine in

Was in New Castle for a week. The first time I went here the food was really good but the service wasn't. Like others have said the servers yelling at each other is kind of annoying. But like I said the food was good so I went back. Google said they were open til 9, I walked in at 8:05 and the guy behind the bar looks at the clock then looks at me and says do you want to put in an order to go? I say no, I want to eat here. He says okay and as soon as he said to sit wherever i want the waitress let out the biggest annoyed whine I've ever heard. So I turned around and left. I'm not going spend money somewhere where I'm not wanted.

We called ahead to see how they would handle two late diners, and they assured us it wouldn't be a problem to reserve a table just fifteen minutes before closing. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and received quick service. We never felt like we were inconveniencing anyone. The portion sizes were huge—much larger than what we're used to in Denver. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Kung Pao Chicken, Shrimp Supreme, and a single Mongolian Beef dinner that came with egg drop soup, all for $60. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!
