The Goat New Albany

The appetizers are excellent, and the ambiance is delightful, but the service is absolutely terrible. If you choose to sit at a table, be prepared to wait over 15 minutes for your drinks, assuming the staff doesn't forget about you entirely. The food is served relatively quickly, but if you're thinking of visiting for happy hour (which offers decent value) or for drinks with a group, you should brace yourself for a frustrating experience due to the service. Many of the bartenders seem to have a negative attitude, probably because they are overwhelmed and management has chosen not to hire additional help.

I visited for brunch on a Saturday and was quickly seated with menus. The restaurant had a spacious layout and plenty of televisions showing college football games. Since it was our first time there, our server was very attentive and offered some great recommendations. The coffee was excellent, and we were really satisfied with our meals and the overall experience. We can’t wait to return soon!

I arrived at the restaurant around 11 PM on a Friday, even though they were supposed to be open until 2:30 AM. It took at least 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge my presence. Finally, someone approached me and greeted me with just a curt "yes?"—not even a "hello" or "how many in your party?" I responded that there were two of us, and she replied with "2 what?" This is a restaurant, after all, so why would I be there if not to eat? She then informed me that the kitchen was closed. Closed? Three hours before their official closing time? The staff and management were truly disappointing.

Everything was pretty good. Our server was well enough informed to answer questions as well as being decently personable by making jokes. Ambiance is alright nothing was too distracting or obnoxious. I was reminded of bdubs but with more class and better lighting. Food was above mediocre the fries lacked salt, and The burger was maybe a step farther in satisfying taste than a Wendy's burger as far as the burger was by itself and not including its toppings. The pizza rolls, however, were top of the line. Again, Jillian our server was excellent!
