The bar is closed, check-in makes us uncomfortable and the recent reviews are downright concerning. We’ve reached out to the text and email contact, the phone is disconnected, and we’re starting to feel really jipped.There’s so much that Nashville has to offer, but this is downright scummy. Stay away. Stay far far away.
Unfortunately, I can 't actually review our stay as we were unable to ever check in. We pre-paid for a stay in January of '23, but we were never able to actually get in touch with anyone to confirm it or to check-in. After numerous calls, emails, and reaching out on social media, we gave up and booked another hotel. I 'm leaving this review so that it hopefully saves someone else the trouble that we went through. Horrible customer service before we could even get in the door. Stay far, far away.
Rude manager. Rude staff. They can 't handle a large party when they 're slow. We had 10 people for a birthday party and they treated us like trash.
Wish I could give zero stars. Horrible! I had a signed contract, with a deposit paid, for my wedding and wedding reception. The new owners dragged us along for months saying they would honor it and then CANCELLED 7 months before our wedding. We now have no wedding venue or place for our out of town guests to stay and they couldn’t care less.
When I raised my concerns, I was surprisingly followed outside by a group of male staff after I mentioned I was going out for a cigarette. We ended up having a standoff at the entrance, where I was told I couldn’t smoke there—even though it was a public area—and the staff approached me in an aggressive manner. After a rather average Christmas meal, which set us back £230, I was followed into the bar by another staff member who insisted I sign the drinks bill again, even though I had just done so. To make matters worse, we were informed for the second consecutive day that food room service was unavailable. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this rating. I tried to express my grievances during our stay, but each time, the response was dismissive and came from what I can only describe as children in managerial roles. Unfortunately, our short Christmas stay was completely ruined, costing us £1,150 for the experience. We used to frequent Van Dykes for Sunday roasts and meals, but after this festive experience, we won’t be returning. They should seriously reconsider employing such inexperienced staff to run a supposed 4-star establishment.
