An old school fine restaurant that has thundered the years and covid short staff with gnade. eating is excellent and the service is excellent.
Fantastic meal. old school nantucket. the hard fish was the standout like the cuddly app. great service and staff that went beyond and beyond!
The service in the restaurant was 5/5, but unfortunately the new cook left much to wish in this season. I ordered to start the lobster bisque and had the filet mignon as my escape. the bisque was unusable. it was the consistency of water with hardly taste at all. the water that washed the lobster would have tasted better. there was also a small lobster garnish that floated in the suppe from brot. it has not added anything to the presentation and I have not disturbed it how bad the bisque itself was. I sent the bisque back and rejected a replacement. as for the act. it came with a side of green beans and carrots that were not spiced at all. the chef put some sweet in a pot, let her cook for a bit, then threw her on the plate. no salt, no pepper, nothing. If I wanted cooked vegetables, I would have stayed home and spared my wallet. I ordered the vacant medium. it came medium minus the soulman around the whole outside the filet. it was burned to a black cripple. I guess the melted cheese crust above should help mask the evil carbon taste of burned filet. it was at least in contrast to the bisque edible, although the quality was what I would expect from longhorn steakhouse and not a restaurant of this call. the best part of the meal was the tiny portion of kartoffels. no complain there and by far the best on the plate by a slipping. the quality in the food has been incredibly pleasant, as I have recently eaten here under the previous cook. that has led me to leave this evaluation as a returning customer. maybe my experience this time was a fuke and had nothing to do with the new cook. either I will probably not return and risk another bad meal and waste money under this boil.
Have always loved ship’s inn atmosphere, eating, service. so glad it still exists!
