Wheat Sheaf Inn - Nanaimo

Recently moved to Ladysmith and have been looking for good food at reasonable prices for lunch We have been twice now and really enjoyed the food.

I have lived in Nanaimo for years and hands down never had better pizza and perogies. MUST try to the shrimp and cream cheese perogies with heaps of onions and bacon. The service is quick and fast. The atmosphere is small pub style. Nothing fancy in terms of the inside look.

We're visiting a friend who took us here. The premises are ok, furniture comfortable. It is a pub after all. The place was busy though. The wings were good. We had the cabbage rolls (fair.) Bob had shrimp ( good) they say the pizza is excellent. They do have lots of TV's, live entertainment Saturday, and an outside patio. Good time- wouldn't rush back

Pizza is where its at- Do NOT buy the fish and chips- Thee worst Ive ever had. literally Sandwiches are good as well though :)

We've frequented The Wheat Sheaf since we live within walking distance.I've tried multiple dishes. Nothing has been memorably good. It's all just average.I ordered nachos that weren't crispy they were stale, the chicken wings really fatty. It's a local watering hole with mediocre pub food.The menu is huge which might be part of the issue?Maybe make it smaller and put effort into making those few things really good.Tried the pizza, the dough was raw, it's like it was flash cooked to make the cheese melt warm it through but when you bit in the dough was as stringy as the cheese. I didn't like it. The place needs a major lift, from renovating the space to renovating the menu and getting the kitchen on board with improving the quality of what they are dishing out.I'll continue to go for drinks because it's in walking distance, but I'll eat before I go, or go to the Crow
