Umai Sushi - Nanaimo

Really friendly, attentive staff. super cute and clean interieur, love the cherry blossom trees! delicious eating, many vegetarian/ vegan options, I love the veggie lunch box and it is a great deal for all foods they get. also good to roll. Note: miso is made with fish stock.

Between 11:30 AM to 3 PM the lunch box special is a great deal for $13.99 and they have an entire sushi to go area. However I would only buy it during lunch hour as the rice could become slightly hard during dinner time. The prices and food quality is good but the sushi rolls are a bit small.

We tried Umai on the recommendation from a friend after having a terrible experience at another sushi place in town. The staff at Umai were all very friendly and our takeout order was ready in a timely manner. Tasted delicious and we will definitely be back!
