The service is incredibly bad. I ordered veggie and got beef, and then the waitress was rude about it. I suspect the old kranky waitress also hates foreigners.
We only know this place in the summer, sitting outside enjoying their delicious hamburgers. Don't tell anyone!
Really good atmosphere, friendly staff and yummy burgerThe menu is not so extensive but enough and you can always add or remove ingredients to make you own burger. The food was really good, and at very good priceThe cook would even bring the food to our table!100% recomendable! We'll definitely come back!
I've been sent to work in Germany for a month and have been sampling many great restaurants during my stay. Since I have been dining mainly on German cuisine lately I thought I would try something different. Let's see how they do a burger here in Germany. So this place popped up about 20 minutes walking distance from my hotel, so I thought I would check it out.The restaurant is in the middle of a neighbourhood with a small beergarten out front. I went in and although they had a nautical theme happening, it still felt like a typical German style restaurant. Long tables, cozy and warm inside type of place. I sat at a large table and ordered a beer. Looking through the menu, it was mostly English in terms of cheese burger, bacon cheese burger, etc... There was a special that was typical German fare of boiled or simmered beer (I think) with potatoes. I opted for the cheese burger, 200 gram size and since I could not decide on which type of fries to have (Indian or wedges) I had the salad. I know, a bit extreme the other way. LOL I saw that Indian fries looked like French fries so maybe they are snubbing the French. The burger came to the table. Although the burger fits inside the bun instead of slightly over hanging it was quite good. Maybe be better than just good. The bun was soft yet firm enough that it didn't disintegrate from the juicy burger. Toppings were good (lettuce, tomato, onion, special sauce and ketchup), but I think it was just a bit over bearing on the ketchup. The meat itself was well seasoned and tasty similar I would say to an A&W burger but not as salty. Overall it was a very good burger. So 2 beers, the big burger and a salad set me back just over 17 euros. English is not spoken here but you can get by with a couple of German words and the menu has English in it enough to understand what to order. Because of the large tables, don't be surprised if some of the locals sit with you. Unless they speak your language or you speak German, you may find yourself trying to communicate with them if you so choose or not. Anyway, depending on how things go, I might be back to try something else here at the Mayflower. Cheers
