Southland And Catering - Moyock

Last week, I was in Detroit for work and decided to stop by a restaurant. I tried the fried chicken with hush puppies, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. Everything was excellent, and the service was very friendly!

Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food. My only complaint is that there was a whole section for what looked like a buffet, but there was no buffet! What if you? You'll be disappointed. But still amazing food. They also sell wild horse pictures and portraits with a gift shop directly over the parking lot!

I visited the restaurant on Sunday and had to wait a bit before being seated. I ordered the signature roasted chicken, a BBQ brisket sandwich, and chicken dumpling soup. The main dishes were decent, but the sides were really impressive. We particularly enjoyed the hush puppies, coleslaw, and cucumber salad. The mac and cheese was just okay. I also liked the chicken dumpling soup; while it wasn't extraordinary, it had a nice secret flavor and wasn't overly salty like at some other places. Overall, it's a decent restaurant for the area.

Today I enjoyed the dark fried chicken, Cole Slav, cucumber salad sweet tea!!! Great location, delicious food friendly staff!

This is the best place for fried chicken made to order and it is very well seasoned, guys if your in the area and are hungry this is the spot , I had the light chicken dinner which consists of 1 breast and 2 wings. 2 sides baked beans in molasses, delish, fried okra nice and crispy, my husband had the fried steak with gravy it was very tasty, but the fried chicken is the best around. We'll be coming back ,thanks guys good job ??
