Four for lunch on a Friday and the place was empty, only one other diner there.Found the food interesting, but not really Filipino as I remember it. We ordered three mains and rice. The king prawns which were nice but HAD NOT been deveined and as you bit into them you could see the dark strip which put two of us off completely, I actually left one was too hard to do myself. The young waiter was good he spoke to the chef and brought out two more for me which had been cleaned. BIG TICK! We also ordered the beef cheeks which were excellent but a share plate once again hard to handle, the cheeks had not been cut and to do so at the table was almost impossible. The best of all I think was the fried pork belly with soy sauce - delicious. Is BYO which is good. Have rated it average but was actually better than that, was good.
The airconditioning in the restaurant was freezing. I asked if they could turn a heater on and the male staff member said the centre management control it. We were not offered another table. I left my big jacket on but was cold and uncomfortable the whole time. This is my second time at this restaurant and I don't remember it being that cold last time. The food was good but I didn't enjoy it as I was really cold. Service was slow too. It was busy but not full to capacity. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to eating there again.
Good Filipino food. Friendly, informed staff, fast service. Children welcome. This is family friendly.
As this was going to be my first experience with authentic Filipino food and i had read the reviews, my expectations were really high. Not only was i not disappointed, the whole experience exceeded expectations. The place is in a suburban shopping centre and, while a bit open on all sides, it has a good vibe, We chose the "Feed me". The food comes out once it's ready so everything is very hot and fresh. There was melt in the mouth braised beef cheek in peanut sauce, perfectly charred pork skewers, yummy crispy spicy chicken, juicy papaya salad and the highlight: the crispy pork hock with the most amazing crackling. And i don't even like pork that much! There was plenty of food, and even had some leftovers for lunch the next day. All was served by friendly staff and good service. Excellent value for money (29 pp) and it's BYO for a small corkage fee. Can't wait to go again and try some of their other, delicious sounding, dishes.
