Martin's -b-que Joint - Mount Juliet

I was in the area for work and decided to walk to this restaurant from my hotel. I tried the brisket tacos, and they were delicious! I would definitely return. The staff was friendly, and the interior had a great vibe. The mac and cheese was a bit thick for my taste, but the beans were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of brisket mixed in. @food_from_the_usa

We were traveling through Tennessee and wanted to stop at a Nashville BBQ place and this was on the way (with a slight detour) to our destination. The BBQ sauce is really thin (a bit watery) but very flavorful and delicious. Their brisket is probably some of the best I've ever had. I enjoyed the ribs. Their mac and cheese was top notch and the cornbread hoecakes were fantastic dipped in their sauce. Their chips were made there and seasoned wonderfully. Service was great too! We all loved this place.

Delicious food, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a meal and some relaxation.

Unique and delicious! This Kansas City girl had her head turned by some whole hog Tennessee pulled pork. The cornbread cake was savory and almost crispy. So much character to this place and friendliest staff!

I made my first visit and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. I will definitely be back. I ordered the redneck taco, which features hoecakes (cornbread pancakes), pulled pork, slaw, and a vinegar-based jack sauce, along with a side of mac and cheese and a mix of sweet and unsweetened tea. You definitely need a fork to eat this dish—there's no folding it like a regular taco. The hoecake's texture was excellent when combined with the tender pulled pork, and I particularly enjoyed the crispy bits mixed in with the meat. The slaw had a fantastic blend of flavors and was thinly sliced, making it easy to enjoy without making a mess. At first, I considered asking for a different sauce since I usually prefer molasses-based BBQ, but I decided to stick with the original dish, and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I added more sauce at the table because it was that good. As for the mac and cheese, it's not your typical kids' version; it was less cheesy than expected. I was a bit disappointed because it seemed like there was more milk than cheese, which made the texture a bit grainy unless it was topped with breadcrumbs for added texture, which some places do. However, overall, it was still quite good. I finished the entire dish and will definitely come back. The pricing was spot on too.
