Sanctuary By Sirromet - Mount Cotton

The location is beautiful and it might be worth visiting for a special event or show, but the tents can be quite uncomfortable in winter, extremely hot in summer, and reminiscent of a flimsy tarp for camping. This may appeal to some, but be aware that there are no TVs either in the rooms or the restaurant. The staff at the reception seemed overwhelmed, and even though there were three of them present, they didn't really provide much assistance. Their first priority was to tell us how to check in instead of sharing information about our room or our stay. The restaurant, while located in a nice setting, also had a similar tent vibe that lacked heating, and some of the tables were just basic iron picnic tables without any covers, adding to the overall inconsistency. Perhaps it’s a better option for those planning a day trip.

We had a delightful stay! We enjoyed taking a walk around the lagoon in the afternoon, which was truly lovely. The area is surrounded by beautiful greenery, and we spotted plenty of adorable wallabies.

The location is absolutely gorgeous for a weekend getaway.

Good place to stay, but very pricey. I booked this accommodation months ago for a wedding, but the family had some of their plans changed. It turned out, if I wanted to cancel my booking one week out, they wanted a $195 cancellation fee. The room was beautiful and clean, however the room didn't get cleaned until 3:00pm every day. The surprising thing was, Sirromet hosts weddings all the time, but didn't have a plan for an outdoor rainy day wedding. The bride walked with a heavy huge wedding dress being dragged in water puddles on the footpath down to the outside venue. For a such a famous venue like Sirromet not to even have a cheap synthetic grass roll-out to prevent a wedding dress from being dragged through water and mud, is just pathetic. That for me, put a downer on the event. All and all, quite a disappointment. No doubt, the wedding party made the best of what was on offer.
