We ordered rosé champagne - it brought nature. We asked for water - she forgot. the menu is weird - each dish is stuffed - rather stuffed. They call it thematic. zucchini - zucchini? a cut apple with a soup with zucchini flowers? (no spoons). Maybe a dish - or two - could be something stuffed but each dish? We waited 90 minutes. After 40 years, we asked for more drinks. After the '90s, they still hadn't arrived. We ordered two bottles of wine - after 90 minutes, they had not arrived. No bread. The amusing mouth was a purée of cold carrots on slices of corvette and dried carrots! basile has been wrong to order so after 90 minutes, it has brought three entries and two dishes - all ridiculous - (always no wine or second round of drinks.) the five adults are certain that we have ordered five entries and five main dishes. our little boy's dish was white fish (heated) and pasta (cream) on a white plate. No trace of seasoning. warm food and hot plate in the oven for a four year old child! The stuffed eggplant was frankly a burnt turgescent gruau. when the food arrived after 90 minutes, it was bad and especially worse than the hospital food. (the lamb was actually very good - the fair of the fair) they proposed to take the main dish and bring two other entries. It would take another 40 minutes! While that time, basile was doing the hundred steps and turned on itself in a style the world of dory - it would have been said that it had a short-term memory problem - perhaps 5 seconds maximum and after that, it forgets - where it is, what the people have eaten - scandalously poor. When we said it was false, basile raised the eyebrows and lifted the eyes to heaven. We left. It's a shame that tripadvisor doesn't have a zero. That said, I'll give them 1 for the lamb and less 10 for a terrible service. Don't go there. Already. It's disgusting.
We stayed at the pond mansion for 4 nights recently and I would not be able to recommend it too much. it's a little shabby-chic but so comfortable and welcoming. a haven of peace a few minutes from the charming city perched with mogins. the manor house has a fascinating history and has welcomed many famous personalities and painters at the time. overlooking the largest lake with European nenuphars, with beautiful walks nearby. the restaurant is excellent and we had 2 very good dinners, cooked perfectly with local products (by a star chef michelin !). our large double room looked more like a suite, with a breathtaking view from the windows. This seems a place out of time where you can relax, by the pool, and feel like you were a very special guest of the owner. We'll be back!
Great expectations for this restaurant. First of all, we were served with carrots and zucchini that were not freshly prepared because the edges of the carrots were black. bad startup. The meal however improved and ended with two fantastic desserts. the setting is beautiful with views of greasy mugins but little atmosphere in the restaurant itself
Now, I've visited this fantastic place again. 20 minutes after taking your luggage back to the nice airport, you enter the pond manor through its beautiful doors. A few minutes later, you are sitting in a comfortable armchair with a glass of rose on the large terasse with views of the beautiful garden, horses and with the pond at the bottom. I stayed a week and took advantage of all the beautiful places in the neighborhood, like st paul de vence, valbonne, antibes and canes. In the evening, I had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and I really enjoyed the dishes of the late chef. The pond manor is the place!
The pond manor is a beautiful place of relaxation only 15 minutes from canes. at the restaurant, the young talented and ambitious chef recently arrived, laurent chicken, offers delicious dishes based on local products and season prepared in a cocotte on the noon and in the way of the "little niçois stuffed" at dinner. you can feel the personality of the cook behind every creation. Moreover, he came to talk to us after we finished our dessert and told us of all his plans, so there will certainly be other surprises to come. I really recommend this restaurant and I will certainly come back in the near future.
