Jockey Hollow Kitchen - Morristown

I've eaten at all the restaurants inside JHBK, and I can say across the board, the food is good, but not great, and definitely not on par with the price tag. Compared to 1776 the food is outclassed. Atmosphere is always top notch and a great setting in all the rooms in the facility. The cocktails used to be bar none a level above everything else in town. However, since the original bartenders had a fight with the owner and all packed up and left the cocktails have been mediocre and unoriginal. I want to add that during covid they had the audacity to be the only restaurant in town to require proof of taking a shot to enter. Haven't been back since.

We had cocktails and apps in the library bar. Excellent! Sam, the bartender, is very talented! (All the bartenders are! Loved her libation creation!

Went tonight a beautiful evening to sit outside At the Jockey Hollow patio. Waitress asked what water, we ordered tap water with lemon got limes. I asked for a Stella- got an IPA. My wife asked for a Pinot Grigio got a sweet Soave. We asked the waitress are you new never got an answer. So we left as I left the maitré d asked if everything was ok I said “No” she said “wonderful”. So we went to South And Pine got great service and and outrageous food.

If I could give zero stars I would. After reading many good reviews, decided to go to celebrate my birthday. We had to order drinks 3 times because the spirits for the ones we asked for (though published on your website) were not available. Had the Sicilian crostini appetizer which was tasty and came in a reasonable amount of time. Then, even after inquiring, it took almost an hour and a half before our 2 pasta entrees came. The pasta was tepid and tough and the octopus tentacle served in mine was as hard as tire rubber. Seemed to us that in all likely hood they had been under a heat lamp for a long time. The only reason I gave service 2 stars was because our waiter Chris did a good job. The rest of the wait staff seemed very disorganized. On top of all that my daughter had called and left her charge card number to pay for our meal as my birthday present and was told that would be fine. She was not charged and certainly our experience was not worth the $155 that I was charged.
