This restaurant is very unhygienic. I actually found a few bugs in my soup, which surprised me. The middle-aged waitress with short hair had a very bad attitude. Sham Tseng is excellent for its deli counter...not so much for the restaurant itself. The deli counter in front of the restaurant is an awesome sight, with everything from a half of a roasted pig hanging on a hook along with geese and ducks, to excellent pork ribs and char siu. The restaurant menu is traditional, home-style Cantonese food. Prices are pretty reasonable. But the servers are less than friendly, they have loud conversations around the tables while customers are eating and aren't particularly attentive. The dishes themselves tend to be overly salty and certain veggies like the choy sum aren't cleaned too well. But the BBQ is definitely worth it. Go to the counter and take your BBQ home to enjoy.
