Fat Jacks Barbecue - Monona

This was actually our second choice, after we found out the first had an hour wait. Walked right in here and ordered and sat down. Got much busier as we ate. Food was amazing!!! I was asking if the red beans and rice were vegetarian and one of the gals told me about a couple other sandwich options they could make! Onion rings were some of the best I 've had, adult grilled cheese with tomatoes was awesome, beans and rice were spicy and good. My husband had ribs and chicken wings and picky him loved them. Kids had burgers, which were good size for kid portion . Prices were reasonable, portions were large, service was impeccable! If we lived nearby, we would definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Adult sized grilled cheese, veggie burger, red beans and rice, onion rings.

We love the BBQ from Fat Jacks! It’s a classic, stop in and pick from a variety of themed booths! I’m still trying to hit them all!

The smoked beef combo was good, but their sauce was just tomato sauce, no BBQ flavor at all!

This restaurant almost single handedly makes me proud of this country. It’s like a time capsule to better times. The service is friendly like family, the interior is kitschy in exactly the way you want it to be, and the food is phenomenal. I also think the pricing is extremely fair for the quality and portions too.

Best barbecue in town! Quality service and a great atmosphere are going to turn me into a regular.
