I tried the Bangkok Food Truck in Truro, Nova Scotia! I ordered the cashew chicken, rice, pop and spring rolls and it came to $22.00. I that that this was a bit pricey for lunch but I really wanted to try it as there are not many Thai restaurants in Truro. The food was fresh and tasty. My only complaints were that the cashew chicken could have used more spice and the spring rolls didn't come with enough sauce. If i closed my eyes and didn't know what i was eating I wouldn't have guessed Thai food. However, that being said I would try it again and ask for more spice because the chicken and veg were so fresh!
After taking time to find the food truck and excited to try; perhaps it was at the end of their day near closing time but we were a little disappointed. It wouldn't be pricey for good food but it was pricey for not so good, and one would hope pad thai would be some what of a Thai feature item. Over oiled without flavor unfortunately is best description. The cashew chicken was a little tastier but still by no means had a thai flavor.
The Bangkok Food Truck offers tasty, genuine Thai cuisine at an affordable cost.
To place an order at this restaurant, you wait in your car for 5 to 10 minutes and receive your food directly from the kitchen. In my opinion, the dishes are a bit heavy on the oil but still tasty and fresh. It's a great choice for when you want to give your own chef a break for the night. Opting for takeout from a local Asian restaurant like Cinta Ria, the Malaysian-inspired eatery, is a comparably priced alternative.
