My favorite meal to have is breakfast, and their breakfast menu has a great variety of choices. I love the avocado toast, banana and pecan waffles, and French toast. Their coffee has a great flavor. Their cups are too small for this avid coffee drinker, yet my cup doesn’t ever stay empty for long. Great place to eat and get together with friends and family for any occasion. Parking: Located in a business strip, so depending on the time of day, the parking gets pretty full. Also, the parking lot is in need of repair as there are several large potholes that make it difficult to maneuver around.
ATMOSPHERE: The place itself feels quite crammed. It 's not that big of a deal, but it 's a bit uncomfortable when other customers are bumping into your elbow or leg as they squeeze by your table. I 'd highly recommend removing one, maybe two tables so as to create a more comfortable environment for both the customers and the staff. Surely, this will never happen as I 'm suggesting they purposely reduce their revenue, but it 's a thought. As I made my way to the restroom, I noticed that the floor was incredibly greasy/slippery. If anyone here has been to the horseshoe taco place in town, you 'll know what I mean. You basically have to balance yourself so as not to slip and fall. I don 't mind doing the balance act at ghetto taco shops, but this restaurant is supposed to be a notch above those places. Do us all a favor: mop your floor properly. The restrooms were quite clean, which was nice. The lighting is just right throughout the restaurant as well. FOOD: I ordered the red chilaquiles, over medium eggs, and coffee. The plate comes with beans and potatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly medium, which most places can 't do right the white will be a bit runny, or the yolk will be slightly solidified. Good job on that. The beans tasted homemade, and the potatoes were good. Basic, but good. Adding a bit of green bell pepper, onion, etc would definitely bring them up a big notch. As for the red sauce in the chilaquiles, it was very subpar. It was what I refer to as an americanized red sauce. It did have a slight hint of heat, which was nice, but it 's severely lacking authenticity. It was similar to the standard red salsa you can get at stripes for your Q taco. The totopos were very crispy and eye appealing. The first few bites were awesome crunchy, fresh, and lively. However, halfway through I began getting that distinctive burnt oil flavor. You know the kind: cook has used the oil a bit too many times, or with too high of a heat and the oil takes on a burnt aftertaste. Not good. SERVICE: The service overall was kind of average. The waitress was decently attentive, but she gave no input whatsoever when I asked her for her recommendation on the green or the red chilaquiles. All she said was that the only difference was the sauce (yeah, no duh). Some places make their red sauce real spicy. Others make it out of chile rojo, which is mostly just for color and flavor. It 'd be nice if she would have elaborated a bit. This place also plays out like a fancier than normal mexican restaurant. Yet, they brought us our checks when we weren 't even done or close to done with our visit. Sure, she explained that it was no rush and to take our time, but it 's also quite off putting to bring the checks without being prompted to. It 's also an indicator for the customer that the waiter/waitress is basically now going to ghost your table. Perfectly fine for lesser places like a hole in the wall restaurants and such, but not if you 're trying to appear fancy and classy. Speaking of hole in the wall, I won 't give details on here because I don 't want it to appear like I 'm attacking this restaurant. All I 'll say is that management should seriously consider hiring a pest control service. Good luck to this restaurant and its customers. We don 't see ourselves coming back at all.
The place is cozy, I enjoyed my coffee with some eggs Benedict, and for dessert a delicious carrot cake.
My wife recommended this place. Stopped for lunch. I was by myself and was met by the owner. Didn’t know he was the owner until later. He recommended the Sea bass. I told him I wasn’t a fish person. He told me I would love it. I ordered it and was not disappointed. It was delicious. Had a jalapeño sauce on top that was very good and not too hot. The fish was cooked to perfection. Came with white rice and vegetables that went perfectly with the fish. The service was outstanding. I highly recommend this place you won’t be disappointed.
I'm not a fan of their Mexican cuisine. Fajitas were chewy, and beans were past their time. I will not return. Also, the A/C dripped on me while at the table.
