Mistral - Milwaukee

For our main courses, we ordered two dishes of halibut, along with tuna and steak. The halibut was absolutely divine, and it was perfectly cooked, making it my favorite fish. The tuna was decadent, while the steak was very good and tender, served alongside crispy finger fries. We were all very pleased with our meal and the overall atmosphere. Our server, Heidi, was fantastic and attended to every detail with care. Additionally, the very personable and talented owner came out to check on us, which was a lovely touch. I definitely plan to return and try the rabbit dish next time!

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for the last six months, and what a fantastic find it turned out to be! The Mediterranean-inspired cuisine was creatively prepared and bursting with flavor. For our appetizers, we ordered duck wings, octopus, and turmeric cauliflower, and we enjoyed all of them, especially the accompanying sauces. The net rye-crusted halibut was exquisite, complemented beautifully by the delicious rye berries. The rabbit cacciatore was exceptional, with moist meat harmonizing perfectly with the tomato sauce and polenta. To top off this wonderful dinner, we indulged in the Mistral Trio of Desserts, which was the perfect finale. The wine list, though small, was well-curated, and there were also cocktails and a selection of beers to pair with your meal. The service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

This restaurant offers fantastic Mediterranean cuisine. I visited on a Sunday night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I started with the octopus appetizer, which was delightful, and then had the venison burger that was absolutely phenomenal. For dessert, I had the flan, which was incredible, especially with the velvety Karamell coffee syrup. The cocktails were also excellent! I would definitely return. Our server was fantastic as well, providing great service and being very accommodating!

Can't say enough good things about this restaurant and his food. Every dish was amazing. It is hidden in the Avalon Theater on KK Ave in Bay View, and the occasional bass-choco sound from the cinema reminds you of it. But the ambience in the restaurant is intimate and quiet. The menu is varied and tasty (and I am not easy to please and have eaten everywhere). I've never tasted so delicious octopus. The price is low compared to the quality and quantity of food. It is a small place, but we have a simple reservation on a Saturday evening (this will change according to COVID and this review)! The wine pairings were generous and perfect with the food. Five stars on everything and we'll be back.

Fantastic food at great prices. Got the octopus appetizer with the rabbit main dish. All of the flavors were perfect. Did the wine pairing with the dinner and the choices really complimented the food. They know what they're doing here. Definitely worth checking out
