Parking: free parking lot parking. We tried a few different dishes since it was our first time there and we don 't find out that way often. We ordered the wonton soup, large version, not the small ones. At first, I thought they meant size of the order, but I was wrong. When they ask large or small, they meant the type of wonton. I guess the large ones has more ingredients and meat. It was ok. The soup had seaweed in it, which was tasty. Reminded me of the seaweed soup my parents made at home. But the wontons itself seem to lack some flavor. Maybe because I 'm used to the fresh taste that shrimp gives in wontons, so I wasn 't used to it without. (These don 't contain shrimp, at least not that we saw) May not get this dish again. It wasn 't bad, just not to our liking. The Shanghai stir fried thick noodles was good, but a bit too salty. Think they added too much soy sauce. Maybe because it was so busy that they accidentally splashed in too much sauce. It was fine tho, still good. The steamed juicy dumplings were ok. Not much juice inside and not too flavorful. But since they served it with the black vinegar, I ate it well. Haha! It 's the vinegar that helps. Glad they served it with the black vinegar and not the red type like many dim sum spots do. We tried the large pork balls with crab sauce. Very nice. The pork mixture was very very tender juicy. Cooked perfectly. The seafood sweetness the crab sauce gave was very tasty with the meat. Make sure to add a few spoonfuls of sauce over your meatball as you eat it! The fried fishes was also good. Don 't remember the name but it was like 5-6 small fishes that were deep fried and seasoned. Crispy. Yummy! Next time we come back to the area, think we will come back and try other dishes as well. They have a large assortment to choose from. Can 't wait!
Sweet sour pork spareribs are solid, and probably the star of the show here. We ordered their sweet sour pork spareribs, pea shoots, Shanghai chow mein, and the XLB. Sweet sour pork spareribs: Again, solid. Get this if you 're craving it. Good color, doused in the sauce, excellent overall. Pea shoots: One of my favorite veggie dishes to order in Chinese cuisine. Compliments the S SPS above. Garlic taste, clear sauce. Very good. Shanghai chow mein: Chewier and thicker than more commonly eaten chow mein in American-Chinese cuisine. Another one of my favorites. XLB: In attempt to use a phrase very common among zoomers, this was very mid . While it certainly looks the part, it lacked any punchy flavor in the broth. I 've been looking for my next XLB place ever since my favorite place closed down several years ago. I 'm still trying to find that next best place. They also have killer lunch specials, I 'm coming back for that next time.
The price was not bad, however, the food were not that great, several dishes were very salty. Taste were not very authentic.
I have ordered the foods at this restaurant for many years. I found the taste was not that good as previously. Suddenly, the dish becomes too salty to swallow. I will never order anything from this restaurant again.
The service here is a joke. They treat take-out differently, making us wait for an hour just for a few items. We ordered through Hungry Panda the take-out app and arrived there to pick the order up. After a good 40 minutes upon arrival, we checked and they still weren't ready, while the app says 30 minutes tops. All of those people arrived after us to eat there got their food. It was clear that they don't give a dime about take-outs, yet they love the traffic from the take-out apps. We told them to skip the last item that wasn't ready and just refund us for that item, yet they wouldn't allow that and kept making us wait. We didn't get all of my take-outs until a good 1 hour and 10 minutes later. The food quality is subpar at best, nothing special and certainly not something you can't get from another Shanghai restaurant. Skip this place for your own good, especially if you are ordering take-outs.
