After several minutes of inactivity, I queried the delay ... 'we 've run out of roast potatoes ' .. and back to TV watch. Another 5 minutes of inactivity before I asked 'how much longer? ' .. 'about 5 minutes ' This episode followed my last purchase from them when I found 2 long black hairs in my meal, courtesy of the long-haired middle age woman whose full mane of black hair had presided over my meal preparation. ENOUGH! ... I demanded a refund, pointing out that I should have been informed, before payment, of the 'spud- delay '. Hugely ungracious refund, nil apology. WOW! Basil Fawlty 's legend lives on.
No complaints here about my roast meal. The chicken was amazing! Crispy and crunchy, full of flavour. Potatoes were just as good, crunchy outside nicely seasoned, cooked well on inside. My friend got roast pork and she really enjoyed it and agrees that is one of the best roast places around. Always come here while im in the north shore.
A no frills roast place in a corner that is not exactly in plain sight. Their roasts are okay to decent while the yorkshire puddings are rubbish. I think thats true for most roast shops in Auckland. Not a whole lot to talk about otherwise. It is the better of the two roast shops on Sunnynook road if you have to choose.
Nice, tender roasts, we prefer their lamb and beef roasts, reasonable price $17.90 for a large that can be shared for two people). The only thing is that they can be really slow especially when there are alot of order, they can get quite disorganised), and a bit stingy on the gravy. We have to ask multiple times for more gravy. Also remember to ask for mint sauce lamb) or apple sauce pork) if not, they might not offer it to you.
Really disappointed with this place. Was impressed with the amount of pork going in the container, until we got home and discovered half of it was inedible fat. And God only knows what happened to the 'roast ' kumara. Won 't ever return.
