Hands down, the best food in Mexia TX. I've never eaten anything there that wasn't delicious. The restaurant is always clean and the service is always great.
To go order: 2 stars for hamburger fries. Had no condiments; fresh cut fries wimpy like leftover microwaved, some even chilled still; bun good. Hubby had salmon salad sweet potato fries (sprinkled with cinnamon sugar). He gave it 3 stars. $30 total.
Stopped by for lunch with the family on our way to San Antonio. The food was great but the service was lacking to put it nicely. Very nice guy seated us at our table and a lady took our order. The food did take awhile to get to our table due to a large group that was there but I was ok with that. Ounce we did receive our food we never seen our server again. No refills on drinks that did end up empty. Not one time did she come by to check on us.
I was camping at nearby Fort Parker for a few days and decided to head in to town for a meal. Glad I did! Home style American food served in generous portions and done quite well for very reasonable prices. Chicken fried steak, fried chicken, cream gravy, mashed potatoes were all quite tasty. Very reasonably priced and the food was so good I went back for lunch the next day as well.
