New Orleans Food Spirits - Metairie

Service was slow but there was a crowd and several large parties. Food was excellent! I always try to make it here whenever I visit Nola.

This place is very consistent with its food, service and atmosphere while keeping it all affordable. I have pretty much had the entire menu over the years and have yet to be disappointed. My latest favorite is the Hawaiian Salmon over a Ceasar salad. I've had it at least 4 times now.To boot, they've updated the place. It's brighter and with a stone top bar, which allows for better seating with respect to your plate. The wood bar was wide and a bit of a stretch for shorter people to eat at the bar.

I wouldn't know what to say because I waited for an hour and a half as groups that arrived after were seated. When I inquired about it I was told that my party of seven had to sit at separate tables as I watched several large parties (15 and up) get seated. Poor service isan understatement!

Other than the wait time everything was good. My food came out luke warm mostly but the waitress was on point. Very friendly and courteous staff. The alcohol drinks are ok not too bad. I was told the hurricane is a strong drink but I survived. The voodoo rolls were real good. My main entree was the chicken bon temp. It's a blacked chicken dish and they seasoned it to perfection. If you plan on eating here I would suggest a reservation and make sure the whole party if you have a big party is there before checking in. Parking: Parking is plentiful in the back of the restaurant.
