Don't let a short wait deter you—despite having a small team, they operate incredibly efficiently, and the line moves quickly. I can’t get enough of the bang bang shrimp and the pork belly; those sandwiches are fantastic. The debris and oyster fries are an added bonus. I also tried their Korean wings, which were sweeter than I anticipated, but still enjoyable. Overall, it’s definitely worth the trip. Bang bang shrimp—thank me later!
I finally visited Banh Mi Boys in Metairie, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The braised pork belly sandwich was excellent and met all my expectations. I also tried the Bang Bang shrimp, and I will definitely be ordering those again on my next visit. The service was quick and friendly, and I enjoyed the outdoor seating. The heaters were just right for a chilly day.
This restaurant serves an exceptional banh mi sandwich, featuring a perfect combination of textures—from the fresh, crispy crust of the bread to the vibrant vegetables and savory meat. I opted for the brisket banh mi, but they also offer refreshing takes on the traditional versions. I recommend calling ahead, as they were quite busy with large orders when I arrived, and they were upfront about the expected wait time. It's clear that they are serious about their craft and genuinely care about making great sandwiches. Enjoying one on my way home from my visit to New Orleans was a real treat. If I lived nearby, I’d definitely become a regular. It's also inspiring to see fellow members of my generation of Vietnamese Americans carrying on the classic flavors of our elders while introducing their own creative twists.
With a plethora of restaurants and po-boy shops in the New Orleans metro area , there is always debate about who's is the best. Well, I thought I had been to all of the best until today. Banh Mi Boys deserves a place among the titans. Their po-boys may not fit directly into the mold of traditional NOLA faire but they are certainly legit! Had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Grilled Pork po-boy today and I cant wait to come back and try the others. Flavors are simultaneously exotic and yet comfortably local; service is top notch, friendly and extremely fast! And dont let the location fool you...despite being attached to a Texaco it is extremely clean and comfortable. File next to: expanding your horizons and knowing your city on a deeper level. Get out of the quarters and head out to Metairie! Get a po-boy at Banh Mi Boys!
We had this DoorDashed and it was still really good. The sandwiches were a little salty for my taste, but the fries were pretty incredible.
