The bathroom sink was dripping, the vents were disgusting and the light fixtures had mold growing in them since there's no exhaust fan. The hook for towels is installed upside down on the bathroom door. There were 4 of us and only 3 towels in the bathroom, so I went down to the front desk to ask for more towels. The man at the desk hardly looked up from his cell phone and questioned me on why I needed more towels. Hospitality is not in his blood even the slightest. I was a complete inconvenience to him and had to explain the size of the towels and why I needed more. The swimming pool was DISGUSTING. There were large clumps of black hair floating around and mold on the tiles. 4 kids were swimming unattended by an adult so I felt like I had to keep my eye on them in addition to my owns kids. One the mothers was outside on the patio smoking weed instead of watching her kids swim and play loud music from a Bluetooth speaker. There were zero towels on the rack by the pool for drying off after swimming so we walked through the lobby and into the elevator soaking wet because I was not asking that man for more towels. For $200 a night there's no continental breakfast, even though the dining area is set up with a long counter for trays for food where a typical continental would be served. I got coffee from the coffee station at the front desk, and there was a film on top of the coffee and particles floating around in it, so I made a cup of coffee in the room with the single K cup provided. The ice machine in the hallway is leaking and causing mold growth on the tile floor, so I imagine it's been broken for some time. Shoots out about 1 piece of ice every 15 seconds. My husband was sitting outside the hotel in the evening hours and there are plenty of homeless sauntering around and howling into the night sky. We hauled out of there as fast as we could.
Reserved a handicap room and didn’t get it so that was a bad start. Rooms are great compared to other places in the area. Prices are decent. No free breakfast, which is weird for me for a hotel this big. Service was 1 star because they were pretty much nonexistent. Over all for a quick stay this was an ok place. Whatever you do, skip the ihop next door unless you like reheated stale food.
Clean, quiet, and close to what entertainment there is in Meridian but I’ve had the same problem with my key cards since I’ve gotten here. My door lock has low batteries so I literally have to swipe them around 40 times. I’ve gone to the front desk twice and all they do is make me a new key. Also, the tvs have been offline since my first night of a 6 night stay.
If you’re stopping in Meridian, do yourself a favor and stay at the Drury. This holiday inn is extremely outdated. No A/C in the hallways so it’s super humid.Wallpaper is peeling off the walls in the bathroom. Tub faucet/handle is barely holding on. There’s mold in corner of the shower. WiFi is useless and it’s time to get some new TVs. Paying over $100 a night and you can’t even put in at least a 50”? No, you get a 32” old school lcd.You don’t get what you pay for here. Stay away.
Housekeeping cleaned the room nicely but didn't replace any of the condiments, like the coffee, tea, and no bottle water to make them with.
