It reflects on it's price but not limit their food quality. <br/ <br/ Been here almost every Saturday afternoon, still can't decide it's the price or the food quality that tops other factors which makes me keep coming back haha.
Tian Tian has to be my favourite Chinese restaurant in Melbourne. I 've dined here so many times I can 't remember how many! The food is consistent and never disappoints. It 's true homecooked authentic Chinese food. As selfish as this may sound, I just hope this place never closes down!<br/ <br/ These are the dishes I 've tried and loved:<br/ Beijing meat patties<br/ Chongqing noodles<br/ cold noodles<br/ shredded cold chicken in chilli oil<br/ fried pork dumplings<br/ shredded vegetable salad<br/ cucumber salad<br/ Kung Pao chicken<br/ spicy shredded pork<br/ spring onion pancake<br/ broccoli stem 'kimchi ' (stored in their fridge)<br/ sliced cold beef (also in their fridge)
I went here with my Dad and sister for dinner. We had a look at the menu and it was a bit more expensive than the other Restaurants we go to in Box Hill because they don't have the option of having a smaller amount with rice . I ordered the pickled pork casserole, Dad ordered the stir fried beans with pork mince and my sister ordered the tofu with pork. I really enjoyed the stir fried beans that's always one of my favourites. The tofu with pork was yummy and it had plenty of Sichuan peppers which left our mouths numb. I couldn't tell you about the pork casserole because they forgot it and we didn't worry about it because we were full enough. We also had steamed dumplings, Dad wanted half fried and half steamed but they wouldn't do it. We also tried the Beijing meat patty, it was ok but I probably wouldn't order it again but at $7 it's a good filler and my Dad and sister really liked it. We also ordered one $2 bowl of rice, it was small but other places probably do a small serve of rice. The man serving us was nice. There's one item on the menu that needs amending because I don't think anyone enjoys being raped by mushrooms .
It is a great restaurant for Chinese homemade style. My partner and I eat in the restaurant quite often. Our favourite dishes are Pan fried dumplings,Chinese burger, sour and spicy soup, cold noodle and veggy salad. If you want to try some traditional Chinese northern part dishes, here is the best place to go.The price is very decent too, once we spent only 60 bucks for 5 people. Although sometimes we have to wait for few mins to be serviced, but it is definitely worth it as you wouldn't find the same taste in any other Asian places. It is not a place for candle dinner or romantic things for sure.overall it is very good restaurant which has nice taste homemade dishes for a family or friends gathering, and even take away.
Tian Tian serves a mix of Northen Chinese food and SICHUAN food because the boss is from the north and the chef is from the south. Tried the beef noodles, yum! Also tried a variety of different cold dishes form the fridge, some other dishes on the menu. They are really tasty yet some are spicy. Highly recommend the Baozi, it may be off the menu but the best I've tried in Melbourne. Tastes like homemade gems, not the commercial baking soda craps. Love TIAN TIAN!!! will go back anytime.
