Through the old brick facade and into the cafe we step back in time with wall photos of the working site and pride of place stands the original firing kiln flanked by tables and seating suiting this rustic site. Greeted by staff we then are offered extensive choices from their organic menu with meals made fresh at time of ordering. Also available are products made by local growers that are organically grown and cultivated for the conoissure of good healthy food. Whether it's for coffee, sweet treat or a wonderfully presented meal, this cafe gets my tick and certainly a must for all. Congratulations to owners and staff.
Great organic food. Play area for young children. Very relaxed atmosphere. Quite a lot of hipsters.... but food is still good. Average prices. The ploughmans lunch is very generous and represents great value. Great place to catch up with friends and has lots of parking. It's the old Northcote Pottery site & is very interesting to see. I'll be going back soon.
We took our grandchildren, ages 3 and 6, to this restaurant for lunch. There is plenty of room and a large play area for children. The food is well-suited for the upscale residents of the neighborhood, and the historic former brick kiln home is well-kept. It was a delightful surprise, and we will definitely return again.
I went to The Kiln with family today and was very happy with the food and service. I ordered the trout on sourdough and the pasta special as I was very hungry after gym. I also ordered a strong late and iced teas. I am now very full now and will happily be back.
I visited this café at the old pottery site based on a friend's recommendation. The staff were extremely friendly and asked for feedback on the food. The menu offered good, simple, and fresh options, including the opportunity to customize your own dishes with their DIY Toast. My husband ordered the ploughman's lunch and was impressed with the ample portion size, especially the generous amount of bread. He mentioned that this was the first ploughman's lunch he's had that had enough bread to accompany the other items. We definitely plan on visiting again.
