Shou Sumiyaki - Melbourne

Walk in by chance and really enjoy the quality of food and service they are providing me Staff is professional and friendly. Really reminds me of the experience that I have in Japan. Their wagyu beef is my favourite and very mouth watering.

This Japanese restaurant is on the corner of Russell and Little Bourke St in Chinatown.We booked a table for dinner on the same day.Good choice of drinks with beers, wines, sake, teas etc. Then you get to choose some appetizers and small dishes to eat before, or accompany, your BBQ choices. Meat, fish and seafood, chicken, all choice cuts, as well as vegetables and potatoes are available for grill selection.It's an ingeneous idea to make people cook their own food, and charge a premium to let them do it. 3 broccoli roses or 6 asparagus sticks at 10 bucks each is robbery, plain and simple.It's fun, sure, the dipping sauces are tasty, but it's all so overpriced that we would not go there again.

I felt we were rushed when eating, we couldn't enjoy our meal which was novel by having our own pot to cook our meat and veg on. Interesting menu but quite expensive.

Slack staff, terrible inedible food, a la carte menu rubbish. They try to firce you to get the bbq which is $130 for two. Everything is by the grm including volumes as small as 60grms. Just rubbish lucky we wernt sick

2nd visit was equally as good as the 1st visit, booked ahead, sat down to wonderful traditionally served authentic very tasty Japanese . Service was fantastic, food was to die for totally rcommend this resteraunt
