Shark Fin Inn - Melbourne

One of my favourites now going back some 35 years. Food quality is great and though very busy the service is good. A great selection of dumplings and other chef specialities.

This is old fashioned, good quality, reliable Australian Chinese food and service. Solid, dependable, high quality and well priced. Some of the food is outstanding. We had a Singapore noodle to write home to Singapore about. This is a stalwart of Little Bourke St.

Our taxi driver recommended the Shark Fin Inn to us when he dropped us at our hotel, which was just across the road. We arrived early but without booking. The staff quickly seated us and provided a pot of fragrant jasmine tea while we perused the menu. The menu was extensive with all the old favourites and more. Servings were huge and great for sharing! Prices reasonable. My Mongolian Lamb was tender, tasty and sizzling on the plate!

Food is good, have lots of selections on dim sum, the server will push the cart and come to your table to show you the food. This is authentic, same as the taste in HK! Must try the fried taro dumpling and the prawn dumpling. I am the egg tart lover, however, I found the egg tart it was a bit sweet.
