Man Tong Kitchen - Melbourne

This is an up market dining experience for dumplings or yum cha. While we expected the pricing to be as high as the quality of the surrounding decor and table settings, we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered short soup, prawn dumplings, chive and prawn, ginger...prawn, deep fried calamari, and others. Service was excellent. Water glasses constantly topped up. Chilli oil and vinegar in small jugs on the table. Food came out hot and fresh, dumplings were very tasty. Probably a bit higher price than you could find in China town, but very acceptable. Calamari was not the outrageous price of for the same size plate at Lucky Chans downstairs

Went here for a celebratory business lunch with people. We were in a private room with a dedicated waiter. Service was good as he was quite attentive to our needs. Food quality was ok I’ve had worse and I’ve had better. Whilst I...understand that it is a challenge to serve people at the same time, some of the dishes were only lukewarm. The servings were also on the small side. We had a banquet, but I would have liked slightly more on my plate for each course. Overall, the food tasted ok. Unlikely to return

Went on Sunday February with other people. Had a trainee waiter who could hardly speak or understand English. Ordered a banquet, food came out too quick. Soup and entrees came out at the same time. Drinking glass had a chip in it. Meals...were plonked on the table not served. At the prices charged you would have thought meals would be have been served. Food was nice but there are a lot of nicer Chinese restaurant with better service. Never again. Sorry Man Tong you need to lift your game

Wonderful flavours in all the dishes. We ordered the middle price banquet for two and it was more than enough even for good appetites. The staff were friendly and efficient even though it was a very busy evening

I have never had worse food or service in my entire life. Drinks were flat, missing and we had eaten our food by the time one had been delivered. So many staff doing absolutley nothing! Poor, poor, poor service. Everything about the experience was...awful. Please do not waste you money! Then to top it off the staff we're extremely rude when we declined to wait for the drinks and an argument ensued between staff about taking them off the bill
