Eating was fantastic to start noodles then grill for main with very fast service of food, although place was extremely busy. will go back safe would recommend for larger groups and families.
Mahn doo is a beautiful upscale Korean restaurant in the cbd. the venue is very elegant and demanding, with high ceilings, romantic dimming lighting and even a beautiful “sunroom”-like opposite, where the deck consists of glass. despite a large group we were very good for all employees and owners. We started with steamed pork and kimchi pork dumplings that were really nice. the skin was thin, and the filling was tasteful. The seafood pancake and kartoffel pancake were both really good. I was really impressed by the kartoffel you were super crispy and soft on the inside. the seafood that could have been crowded and more generous with the seafood, but the aromen were on point. that was probably the favorite. the hen is very well baked very crispy and non-to-dick battery, and incredibly delicate juicy hen inside. it is served with a gorgeous honey scaboo that goes perfectly with the bun. we actually got a piece of chicken that was raw on the inside, and they were friendly enough to take it back and make us a whole new batch so really good customer service! / the jap chae was not bad, but also not much of a wow factor. it is a good portion size, and it is not excessively sweet as some places./ for the net we had the spicy chicken bulgogi, spicy baby octopus and pork belly bbq, and ginseng chicken soup. / the chicken bull was super tasty, and there was a nice selection of ingredients. I would highly recommend adding at the end the extra touching roast rice, which was the highlight of the plate! / the pork bell and oktopus bbq was also delicious, it is sweeter than the boggi one, but the pork bell is very delicate, fat and tasty. best with rice! / the ginseng soup was the least impressive of the 3rd it tasted like an ordinary chicken soup, nothing special. Also note that none of the most important comes with rice, they must order it separately./ for drinks we have tried the ananas and the peach rice wine and a Korean rice wine. although the pfirsich was recommended, I could not really taste a pfirsich taste and it was like a slightly sweet drink. but the pineapple had a nice strong taste of pineapple. the cocktails really taste light and do not have much alcohol. Note that their Korean wee sojus and not on zomato gold only the alcohol-free drinks, tee and beers./ overall we had a really good time at mahn doo. Although it was on the “pricier” end of the Korean cuisine, it was still very affordable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Do take note of their restaurant sign being renamed. Izakaya minami, not Mahn doo. We got a bit lost/confused. They do all their dishes really well. Scanning the menu, it's fusion in the sense of it being Japanese inspired or Korean dishes that are uniquely elevated! I will make it a goal to try everything here. Everything looks enticing. Their assorted sushi platter is one of the best... that's insane to me -very fresh. The wagyu dish wowed the entire table. I know there are different wagyu grades but I've never had wagyu that's so seasoned well or maybe the way they cook it or it being that thick, juicy marbling .. I don't know but you MUST ORDER THIS. If you're in the mood to try innovative korean dishes, Mahn doo will heighten your senses. Along with the attentive, sweet service by all the waitresses, I'm surprised that they don't get the hype and recognition they truly deserve.
Korean style food always good. Nice customer service for us. Hopefully, you guys try this shop no matter what coz too good !! I will back soon
Casual Korean dining<br/ <br/ The place is pretty spacious, surrounded by glass walls. Been here a few times at night so it was a bit dim creating a relaxing ambiance.<br/ The chair we sat on was not as comfortable though, as it is a wooden bench. Service here is better than other Korean restaurants. The staffs are well trained, some speaks good english and are very friendly. Empty plates are almost immediately taken away, and it's not hard to call someone up.<br/ <br/ Beef bibimbap was generous and not dry which we loved. Meat was tasty, and all of the components matched well. Sauce given was also not too spicy and has a good balance of salty and sweet.<br/ <br/ Zucchini pancake was legit the best korean pancake I've had. Crispy on the outside but moist on the inside and not too doughy. Decent portion, can be more generous.<br/ <br/ Beef bulgogi was great, meat was tender and well marinated, not dry. Lots of vegs which had great texture. Decent portion but can be more generous meat wise.<br/ <br/ Fried chicken was pretty good, flavor was there and wasn't oily. Only thing was the batter was not crispy, a shame really. Portion was decent.<br/ <br/ Seafood silken tofu stew was great, tofu was silky, and flavor was just right. Not too spicy and has the umami flavour from the seafood. Pretty generous.<br/ <br/ Their pork and kimchi bibimbap was a surprise though. It was literally pork and kimchi on rice, with a sunny side up on top. I thought it was going to be the usual bibimbap but i think i misunderstood the menu. Nonetheless the pork belly were nice and tender, not too fatty and kimchi was sort of stir fried, bit to the sourish side than sweet. Flavor was okay but i way prefer my ol complete bibimbap.<br/ <br/ Japchae was pretty good however a bit small in portion.<br/ <br/ Miso soup which was decent.<br/ <br/ Lastly the were five side dishes and all were delicious as they complimented the dishes really well. I especially like the macaronis and silk tofu. refillable <br/ <br/ Overall a great place for a nicer Korean dining experience with just a tad bit higher price tag.<br/ <br/ follow for more! <br/ <br/ xx,joelle.
