For such a busy, crazy Saturday night with a full thumping two floors of patrons, the food arrived quickly and delightfully from the minimalist kitchen seen from the tables at street level. My favourite was the eggplant. Try a range of entrees because they are all beautifully presented and taste just perfect. I found myself disappearing into the detail of the greenery tossed around the plates. Each and every little piece of garnish was completely beautiful. I kid you not. And then I had the Curry Laksa. Then the coconut icecream. I was in heaven.
I went here with friends, one of whom is vegan (hence the restaurant choice). Being in a group I had the luxury of ordering and trying multiple things to be shared. I absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered, some of which used mock meats to simulate meat dishes. The standout dishes for me were the chive dumplings, the Japanese curry and the pad thai. The service isn't great, but that doesn't detract from how excellent the food is. It is SO reasonably priced too, I was actually quite shocked by the prices. The restaurant itself isn't much to sniff at, the space isn't very well utilised (it's small) and it could do with some TLC in some instances, but I had a really lovely dining experience and would definitely go back just for the flavours.
This food is incredible and fresh and tasty. The roti was suburb for a starter as were the duck pancakes. The mains were some of the best vegan meals I've ever had. The faux duck was succulent and juicy and the mushroom lamb was so good that I really cannot wait to go back! The sauces were spot on and served with crispy veg. I would recommend it to all..you will love it.
I'm a hardcore 100% meat eater - I eat my steak thick, **** and bleu - basically straight off the cow - however my 14yr old is a Vegetarian so it was with great distain that I booked a 'Vegetarian' restaurant for her. We'd previously and recently been to the Veggie Bar and Transformers but when I saw Madam K's I thought - YEP we'd give it a go. The service at Madam K's was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive or harried. The food/drinks arrived surprisingly fast considering it was 7:00pm on a busy Friday night and the food - well it was was just brilliant! The Curry Puffs were the best I've eaten, the Lamb Sliders were divine although could've been served with a little more sauce. Also had the Miso Glazed Egg Plant. For main course we had the BBQ Duck (hotish) and the Panang Curry both of which were rich in flavour and delicious! For dessert we ordered the Coconut Mousse which I'd highly recommend also. I'd originally planned to order an additional entree/main once finished our mains - but all 3 of us were just stuffed! The only minor thing I might recommend to Madam K's is to offer a drink such as a lassi to quench the heat of the hotter dishes - as water really doesn't cut it. For what it is and the class it's in - Madam K's is 5Stars for sure!
Was here with friends whom my boyfriend and I haven't seen for a while. It was the friend's choice to come here after all, it was his favourite place to dine when he was living near by. I had the Green Curry, had a lot of flavour and had a good punch of heat from the chili in there. The artificial chicken was very tasty. My boyfriend was very pleased with the Pad Thai he had and the chive dumplings. He was also happy the fact that he could get extra lime with his Pad Thai to bring out the flavour a bit more after having a few bites, it was a bit sweet for his liking; after adjusting with a bit more lime, the balance was right.
