Il Pizzaiolo - Melbourne

I went to La Pizziaolo last Saturday night. It was crowded with a mix of people, many families, but all enjoying the excellent atmosphere and great food! "mine Host" was circulating all night, checking that everything was right and making the customers happy! Pizza is the only main course, but there is a huge variety. We had one with lots of salami (nice and mild!) and one with salmon, both were delicious!During the meal, the owner came around and gave everyone in the restaurant a free liquor, a really nice touch with a delicious flavour. Only draw back is that the restaurant is fully licensed. It would be nice to be able to BYO wine.

Seemingly a very healthy and tasty pizza menu with a good size pizza to share for say 2 persons of elegant eating habits or 2 pizza for 3 seasoned pizza eaters.... the latter was our choice. The base was about the best pizza base ever experience and the toppings although modest in quantity were high in quality and modern in styling. Ideally washed down with a Peroni beer and an imported bottle of 2014 Chianti to add to the whole local Italian experience.The real fun started when the desserts arrived with huge portions at reasonable pricing and it didn't matter whether it was a Tiramisu, Italian Doughnuts or Nutella Calzone it was all soooo good. The two tables next to us were clearly admiring the desserts and our efforts to finish the course but alas only one member of our party did!!A definite for families and friends in downtown Thornbury / Darebin for a local, quick and very friendly authentic Italian experience !

We were down the road and thought to pop in on the fly.. They were great with accomodating us last minute.. Great service and AMAZING pizza's - really happy that this is in my local area. LOVE IT!

The food and service lives up to it's good ratings. No need to dress up as it's good for informal dining. The only down side is it's a bit noisy, service is a little too fast and there is a feeling that they want you in and out as fast as possible but don't let that put you off.If you want a quiet romantic evening maybe its not for you but it's a very popular pizza place for families and groups.

Very enjoyable dinner with great pizzas and fantastic desserts. The chocolate calzone is a special treat. Friendly staff, good wnues, and great atmosphere.
