This fish and chip shop is not vegan friendly as everything is cooked in the same fryer. It is disappointing to see this listing ranked ahead of vegan eateries.

If you're in the mood for fish and chips, this place is okay. The "fish" didn't have much flavor and there were mainly just chips, but it's great that they offer a vegan option.

I ordered the new school dish, which includes a salad, fish, and sweet potato fries. The salad was tasty, the fries were delicious, and the fish was just okay. There is ample seating both indoors and outdoors. Overall, the restaurant is decent and the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't want to pay more for my meal, but if I happened to be in the area and needed something to eat, I wouldn't mind coming back here. I wouldn't make a special trip for this restaurant, but it's a solid option if you're in the area.

Being in ISO has had me seriously craving fish and chips, as I guess they are one of the best comfort foods. My go-to for great takeaway seafood is Hunky Dory, as I love the professionalism of this chain; and I know I can rely on delicious and consistent food. <br/ <br/ My most recent visit to the South Melbourne store saw me order some flake, chips, calamari and the obligatory potato cakes. Everything was crispy and golden, nice and salty; and everything I could want in a box of fish and chips. With excellent, friendly service and a fun atmosphere, Hunky Dory is one of those venues that always delivers.
