Fritz Gelato Richmond - Melbourne

I cannot believe I have never been to this restaurant before! Everything here is gluten-free and about half of the options are dairy-free. I have tried six flavors so far and they have all been incredible. They offer take-home tubs which is a great option. I'm not sure if the cones are gluten-free as I didn't inquire, but I informed the staff that I have celiac disease and they washed the spatula extra carefully. They already wash it in between every flavor, so the risk of cross-contamination is low.

It 's ice cream, convenient and has some interesting flavours. But I did find it a very sweet and lacking in complexity. Very busy when we visited on a hot night. I didn 't like that each flavour was not labelled with 'vegan ' or otherwise. But there was a sign that stated all gelato is vegan. As a vegan, I kind of prefer to know for each individual flavour, instead of trying to work out what exactly this shop 's definition of gelato, and therefore vegan, is. I did confirm when I requested my choices, that they were both vegan. Nice to be able to have a cone.

It was okay but tasted far too sugary and the texture was also a bit grainier than I like. Good they have some vegan options and if you have a strong sweet tooth than it would be worth a try.
