ChangGo - Melbourne

We found the place by chance. I'd walked past a closed, unnamed restaurant and thought it looked like it has closed down. I walked back 30 mins later to find it almost full and decided to try it. While I've been to Korea I can't say I'm an expert of Korean food but the staff were very friendly and helped us order and the bbq was the best I've had - and really great value. By the time we left there was a large queue. Very popular and we had no doubt as to why.

The Beef set is good, kimchi is good. Japjae is sweeter than other places. But I personally like it still. The only downside is you need to wait in queue. I went there on Friday night 6.30pm. I didn't know that we have to write our name down the paper hung near the main entry. Had I known it earlier, I could have gotten in faster.

The fact that we had to wait 30 minutes for a chair shows just how popular this place is. We had the Pork Belly Set with 8 different flavours, all as good as the next. A great experience for anyone who has never been, and the food is delicious❤. High quality meats, service and definitely an authentic atmosphere that makes you feel like being in another country

We only chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel but so glad we ate here. Great food, service and prices very reasonable. unique decor, and everybody else eating appeared to be Korean, which always is a good sign! Wait staff very helpful as we had never done bbq before and were not sure of the etiquette, they happily helped us learn. We tried two beef varieties, pork with tofu and rice. Would happily return!

At first, I was quite upset to see three sad side dishes (scrappy kimchi, sliced onions in vinegar and bits and pieces of radish swimming in deep vinegary broth) for what was supposed to be my big birthday meal, as these were probably the worst side dishes I've ever seen in a Korean restaurant. Then the quality meat made me feel slightly better. Still, for the amount we paid, I would have gotten way more somewhere else. Never again and do not recommend to others.
