The decor is OK and they actually play authentic Indian music, gives it a great feel. Aachi's comes to the table to ask if everything is to your liking. We had Samosa was so crisp and full of flavor inside, fresh and the chicken tikka was juicy and soft with nice char from the tandoor and a black hole from the skewer. The Curry's were delightful, we had the same old butter chicken, like no other seriously, the beef and eggplant Curry's were so pleasant and the Naan bread fluffy and bubbly, I'd prefer it not cut. I like this place because it makes real chair masala and I love the fact that Aachi wears a Chef outfit. It's a great place for real authentic Indian food, no onion powder just real spices.
The second of the two go-to everyday Indian's in Kew. Newer than Milan but not worse for it. The curry can tend fresher but the tandoor isnt as strong. I can't split them so we tend to alternate.
We happened to order takeaway from this restaurant and the food was good. Their Kashmiri Pulao was very good. Spinach and cottage cheese was very tasty. We also ordered beef curry and Naan - and that too was very good.
Had an amazing meal. We arrived late at night and were the only people in the restaurant. The food was amazing and so was the service. The waiter was very friendly. Excellent value for money.
We ate here wit two friends who are locals and regular customers. It was our first visit although we had ordered take-away food from Aachis before and enjoyed it. It was mid-week and the pleasant restaurant space on High St, Kew (excellent, free and convenient parking behind the restaurant in a municipal car-park was a plus) was not at all crowded. The service was pleasant and prompt. We were four people so we could order quite a range of dishes to share and thats what we did. We enjoyed the Madras Fish Curry, the Aloo Gobi, Pepper Chicken, garlic naan, and the pappadams were deliciously crisp and non oily. One of the dishes was sent back because the faulty of the meat (lamb) was unacceptable. The waiter replaced the dish with no bother and we were not charged either for the replacement dish or the one that we rejected. Now, problems of this kind can happen in any place but the real test of a good restaurant is the way in which it addresses problems and complaints. On this occasion Aachis came out on top and we all left the cafe feeling replete, contented and happy with the way that we had been treated. This is a family restaurant and the man who served us some of the time that evening turned out to be also the owner and, sometimes, one of the chefs! We will be back - for sure.
