The Metalwood Grille - McHenry

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE?Recently held a post-funeral celebration of life event at Metalwood Grille with ~100 people. Absolutely terrible experience with the space and staff. We spent countless hours putting together memorial video content that would be shown on the provided projector. This was discussed with the manager and event staff in advance and was agreed that a projector would be provided. Upon arriving, they didn?t not have a projector available for us to use and continued to lead us on saying that they were ?working on finding one?. We had to scramble and setup our own projector and cords in order to show the video instead of spending our time with family and friends during the time there. Additionally, the microphone, speaker and music didn?t work properly and the staff was not available to assist the entire time. Upon expressing our frustrations while we were there, we reached out to the manager following the event to discuss what happened and to see what they could do about it. After exchanging emails and texts to setup a time to talk, the manager (Monica Kornfeind) refused to answer the phone and any texts or emails that we sent. We called, texted and emailed over 10 times! Overall, the management team/event space/food/accommodations were not worth the many thousands of dollars we spent to hold this event. TOTAL SCAM DO NOT COME HERE

We hosted a memorial for my mom this Saturday. The place was beautiful, the staff was excellent, and the food was delicious! Beautiful location looking over the River. We will be back for a more joyous occasion!

My family had a great experience here! Our server Hannah was great and very accommodating for the baby and the food is also delicious! Definitely going to eat here again

Had lunch with 6 friends...Ate the fish fry..the fish was delicious, but the potatoe pancakes were not so good so got seconds on the fish...all you can eat fishfry on Fridays! Our waiter was excellent! It is a beautiful setting.

Just so terrrible! Cold soggy fried fish, horrid service!! It took 3 HOURS to be served our meal AND it wasn 't very busy. Firstly it took someone 5 minutes just to greet us while a relative in a walker waited patiently standing. Several employees saw us waiting but they carried on with other tasks, not even a hello . The server was nice but overworked and super spacey and continually forgot about us. The manager woman mid 40 's with short blonde hair and gross exercise pants on with a brown stain on the back said she would bring us plates bc she saw we didn 't have any but SHE NEVER DID so we just passed the food around and ate with our hands. Never will be patronizing again, many other good restaurants in McHenry we should have went to instead. The fried fish came out cold and soggy. Everything was awful. I can 't believe how terrible this place is. The good reviews must be from when I was told the mgmt was different. DO NOT GO HERE!
