Carol the owner was extremely pleasant and accommodating while sitting at the bar enjoying cocktails which were great. Four of us ordered the ribeye which was cooker to perfection. We will definitely go back as this is our new go to place. Mount Shasta could use a restaurant of this caliber. Just Sayin!!!
Would love to support this place since they are newer and local but they are never open. Been in town since Nov and they are always closed. Love that they moved into a building that has just sat empty for so long. Maybe will have better luck come summer. Also when you call the phone number list on most review or chamber sites for them you get the hall not the restaurant. Their message gives you another number to call 530-964-2500 to reach restaurant. Website looks great but would be nice if they updated their hours/days or if they are on extended vacation.
We stopped by this place for a beer on the way back to Shasta from Burney falls. We got the local IPA, which was great, and the server/bartender (I didn't catch his name) suggested the tacos when we went back and forth about getting a bite to eat. The carnitas tacos were worth every single penny! They were delicious and we ate our tacos and drank our beer out on the patio on a perfect sunny fall day. I see good things for this new restaurant.
This evening was my first time at the Old Mill Distillery. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very comfortable with bar, restaurant and outdoor seating. They have a good beer selection and the dinner was very good. I had the brisket dinner and it was well prepared and was NOT drowned in BBQ sauce. I will certainly return!
Having just arrived in McCloud for Labor Day weekend we decided to roll the dice on this place that had opened so recently it did not even appear on Yelp. A quick scan of the menu posted on the porch revealed reasonably priced, BBQ-focused entrees. Everything sounded very appealing (chicken, pork, tri-tip) but we were both looking for lighter dishes after a large lunch. I had the baked beans and the broccoli salad. The baked beans were the Best I Ever Had, a mix of three types of beans plus bacon pieces in sweet sauce with tons of delicious smoky flavor. The broccoli salad was perfect balance of crunchy, bite-sized broccoli, plump golden raisins, sunflower seeds, and sweet coleslaw dressing. Husband got the Mac n Cheese which was made with spiral pasta, topped with delicious crunchy fried breadcrumbs, and included little bits of diced jalapeño. According to our waiter everything is made fresh daily, and I was pleased to be able to find (somewhat) healthy options at a BBQ place. We will definitely have to come back and try the meats soon!
