Russo's New York Pizzeria - McAllen

Service was great. The atmosphere is pretty bad. Pasta was terrible and unbelievably overpriced.

I have dinner with my family and waited for half an hour. People were sitting in front of us and we messed up our pizza. Not even the manager took care of what had happened. Bad experience for my children there. That's the reason my wife talked well about this restaurant.

I really enjoy the ambience of this meal. From the minute you enter the front door, you will be welcomed. You have a back door where you can come... that only leads to the dark cool bar. This position is easy to see over HEB at the northern tenth of St.. The whole staff was our waitress Camille. We order two large slices to pizza and a bowl spaghetti, sooo delicious. It was not hard on the sauce and the pizza crust was crispy, just as we had asked. My favorite disc is the mushroom with pineapple and red peppers.

Russo's is a small restaurant that is easily missed if you don't look for it. They offer a variety of Italian food from pizza to pastas to salads. One person can eat them for about $15 and some have to take home for at least one snack. Our server was attentive, but not very friendly. Could be back, but don't get out of the way.

Really enjoyed the caesar salad and calamari. Pizza and sandwich was very good too. Male server was good about refilling drinks and checking up on us but forgot 2 items after writing them down and ended up cancelling them. We split checks and were asked to provide him our orders again (didn 't he write them down first time?! We made he sure got it right since he had missed some of our initial orders and became short and stern saying I know, I know as he walked away. Would 've been 5 stars if he wasn 't forgetful and would 've minus the brief attitude at the end. He did thank us though after paying. Everyone else was very nice thanking us as we were leaving.
