City Cafe Catering - McAllen

We absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was fantastic. My husband ordered the meatloaf lunch plate, which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and it was delicious. I opted for the day's special, a red snapper sandwich served on a brioche bun with their city fries, and it was EXCELLENT! The portion sizes are generous too; I was able to have two meals from one order. While I was dining, I noticed what other customers were enjoying and can't wait to come back to try more dishes. It's a charming little restaurant with friendly staff. Additionally, the bathroom was spotless when we visited, which is a big plus for me.

Excellent service and a clean, cozy atmosphere with stylish decor. The highlight is definitely the fresh and delicious food! It's a fantastic spot for both lunch and dinner, especially with their great happy hour specials. One of my favorite places in the RGV!

Sat down and the atmosphere was nice. Tables were taken, people are busy, and I'm not sure how many people are working but we were waiting for about 6 maybe 7 minuets until we got our drink order in. Once the drinks came we ordered our food. The soups wegot were good, but the half sandwich was um.. a little over stuffed? I couldn't even fit it in my mouth, I had to take some ofit apart before I could eat it normally. Good food over all though, just expect a little wait if the place seems busy which isunderstandable, we will definitely be coming back again for more.

I was in the mood for something light. We ordered fried cream cheese with jalapeños to start. My wife and I tried the Texas-style chicken salad served on avocado, and it was fantastic! It came with cilantro pesto, bell peppers, and grapes. I also had the tomato basil soup while she enjoyed the French onion soup. To drink, I had a Paloma. The ambiance was lovely, and the staff was incredibly friendly.

This is definitely one of the best places in the valley, no question about it. Cindy, Steven, and their fantastic team elevate the experience even further; they always deliver, without fail.
