Pollo Palenque Mission Tx - McAllen

We’ve never eaten in the restaurant, only used the drive-thru. The staff at the drive-thru are always incredibly friendly and polite. There was one instance where I requested no caldo in my charro beans, but it seems someone didn’t quite hear me. However, the grilled chicken is the best I’ve ever had. I’m not usually a fan of grilled chicken, but this one is an exception. Whenever we get the family packs to share with guests at home, they all rave about it. The rice is also unique and absolutely delicious.

The food was good, but it was quite uncomfortable to eat in such a hot environment—was the air conditioning not working? I also had to clean my own table while an employee just stood by and watched; there were several dirty tables, and I preferred not to sit by the window because it felt really warm there. Additionally, the food was served at different times, and the staff seemed to be more focused on their phones behind the counter rather than attending to the mess around them. I usually enjoy this place, but on this day (07/10/23), their service was lacking.

Very disappointed, ordered from drive thru. It took them about 10 minutes to give me my order, when I get home I found out an overcooked chicken.
