La Jaiba Mexican Seafood Grill

This is the best seafood restaurant in the Rio Grande Valley, and there's no bar! Every time I leave, my taste buds are absolutely delighted. The classic tacos are amazing, and the fish with the no-name sauce is fantastic. The service is quick and friendly, and the ambiance is bright and cheerful.

We were seated quickly and placed our orders without a hassle. We tried the fried fish platter, a fried fish and shrimp combo, and an order of rafafa (a shrimp salad from Mexicali). Everything was delicious, especially the fried fish fillets, which were cooked to perfection. The rafafa had a slightly different flavor compared to what I've had at other places (in a good way); I thought I detected a hint of Worcestershire sauce, but I could be mistaken. Regardless, I really enjoyed it. Despite the busy Lent crowd on a Friday, the service was impeccable. Our orders were taken promptly, and our food was surprisingly quick to arrive at the table. I also recommend trying the cilantro ranch dressing—it's absolutely delicious!

Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff who quickly seated us. They have a happy hour until 7 PM, so we decided to try their margaritas, which were delicious! We also enjoyed their appetizers, particularly the empanadas, which I absolutely loved. The atmosphere was lively, and the combination of great food, drinks, and music made for an excellent experience. It turned out to be a perfect unplanned stop, and we're so glad we chose to come here. We definitely plan to return!

Great customer service! 2 times rubi was my waitress and never disappointed went out of her to make me an salsa for my food.
