South 21

Just had a delicious supper there tonight. Staff is so pleasant and food is great!

Hair in food past 2 times, still have yet to receive any contact. This place use to hit back in the day, idk now.

Huge portions!! Great price! Very good food! $45 for four!!

Have been eating at South 21 for decades. Across from the old Charlotte coliseum and Matthew's since it opened. Was craving my all time favorite Trout plate and an order of Onion Rings. As always food was hot and cooked perfectly. But and a BIG but something has changed. The fish was always varying in size. But now all 3 pieces were exactly the same size. Which was fine. But the batter on both the fish and rings had changed. It use to be flaky and crisp. Now more doughy and chewy. And also the taste on both had changed. We were a party of 4 all very South 21 experienced. All agreed not nearly as good as it use to be. I know over time, things change. But this was definitely not for the better. I will let sometime pass and try again. Hopefully is was just a one time fluke.

As always, the food was great but I almost always get the trout plate with onion rings. Sometimes I get the ribeye sandwich. Both are great as are the employees. Always nice which makes for a great experience.
